The fund is grateful to all those who help us to support retired seafarers and their dependants.
The Nautilus Welfare Fund operates a range of welfare services supporting retired seafarers and their dependants. The charity relies on donations to continuously develop the support and range of activities offered to retired seafarers and their dependants.
By making a donation, you can help to ensure that we are able to meet the needs of seafarers today and in the future. Why not consider leaving a gift in your will, collecting sponsorship in a sporting endeavour or setting up a direct regular donation?
If you are a UK tax payer, you could make your donation go further by adding Gift Aid. This is a government scheme which allows us to increase the value of your donation by 25%.

The Nautilus Welfare Fund also receives very generous donations from other maritime charities. These are often used for large capital developments, such as the recent Seafarers UK Centenary Wing.
The fund is grateful to the following organisations for their on-going support:
- Seafarers UK (formerly known as King George's Fund for Sailors) – supporting seafarers in need from across the Royal Navy, Royal Marines, Merchant Navy and fishing fleets.
- Merchant Navy Welfare Board (MNWB) – an umbrella charity for the maritime charity sector, promoting cooperation between organisations that provide welfare services to merchant seafarers and their dependants within the UK. The MNWB also oversees the Maritime Charities Group (MCG) – an organisation comprised of maritime charities to promote shared resources. The Nautilus Welfare Fund is a member of the MCG.
- The Corporation of Trinity House – an organisation that dates back to 1514, dedicated to the safety of shipping, and the well-being of seafarers. It incorporates the UK's largest endowed maritime charitable organisation. We are especially grateful for the large donation which made the development of the Trinity House Hub possible.
- ITF Seafarers' Trust – established by the International Transport Workers' Federation to provide funds to make seafarers healthier, less isolated, better represented and better connected with their loved ones; at sea and in port.
- Seafarers Hospital Society – a charity dedicated to meeting the health, welfare and advice needs of seafarers.
- TK Foundation – a grant-making foundation supporting non-profit maritime and youth development programmes.
